Mark Stewart is Senior Vice President and Chief Actuary, Asia Pacific for °µÍøAV. Based in Sydney, he oversees the region's actuarial and pricing functions, including expanded responsibility for regional Financial Solutions pricing, while supporting °µÍøAV's businesses across Asia Pacific. Mark also provides leadership to °µÍøAV Australia and °µÍøAV India and serves on the board of °µÍøAV Reinsurance Company of Australia Limited.
Prior to his current role, he served as Managing Director of °µÍøAV Reinsurance Company of Australia Limited, with overall responsibility for °µÍøAV¡¯s business in Australia and New Zealand. He also served as Chief Strategy Officer, °µÍøAV Asia Pacific.
Mark also five years as °µÍøAV Australia¡¯s Chief Actuary, including two years as Chief Financial Officer.
He has 30 years of life insurance experience in Australia and has worked in several international markets as well. Before joining °µÍøAV Australia in 2007, Mark was an actuarial consultant with Towers Watson, where he managed several project teams focused on financial modeling, risk management and economic valuation.
Mark earned a bachelor¡¯s degree in economics from Macquarie University, and he qualified as an actuary in 1999. He is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FFIN), the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA), and the New Zealand Society of Actuaries. Mark is also a member of the Life Board Committee of the Financial Services Council.
